Waves of Life

"Everything that lives seems to be expressive of a rhythmic motion...It is the visible outflow of an invisible divine order, which embraces man and nature alike" - Edith Schapper, The Inward Odyssey

Through Network Care the brain may generate two waves which are associated with dissipation of energy, increased vertebral motion, coordination of the spinal subsystems, and enhanced well-being.  These waves are the waves of life itself.  They are known as the Respiratory and Somatopsychic waves.

The Respiratory Wave

The respiratory wave is characterized by a full and profound, natural, rhythmic breathing, which begins at the base of the spine, progresses upward between the shoulder blades, around the shoulders, and into the neck.  It gently rocks the vertebrae, thereby melting tension and amplifying nerve flow.

The Somatopsychic Wave

The somatopsychic wave (somato for body, psychic for mind or vital energy) is associated with muscular contraction which pulsates and organizes various spinal segments into a fluid, wave-like, coordinated motion.

These wave mechanisms are currently being studied at the University of California to better characterize them and to evaluate their potential role in the body's ability to reorganize at a higher level.

During the Network sessions your facilitator may position your spine to allow for a more effective redistribution of energy, improved coordination of the spinal subsystems, and an enhancement of full spinal movement in these healing waves.

The Network Wave of Healing

Network Spinal Analysis has been written about in many peer-reviewed scientific journals and publications.  Ongoing research at the University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine, has demonstrated that people receiving Network care have reported significant improvement in physical health and symptoms, emotional/mental health and symptoms, stress, and life enjoyment.  If you have been to a chiropractor before and weren't satisfied, or you would like to try something different, or if you have never been to a chiropractor, I invite you to come to my office and get a totally different perspective on health!

What is Network Spinal Analysis?

Utilizing Network Spinal Analysis, the Network chiropractor applies light pressure at precise locations along the spine, called Spinal Gateways, which are closely correlated to regions where dural attachments to the bony vertebrae and contiguous structures have been demonstrated.  This technique is an approach to wellness that cues the nervous system to develop new strategies for living and healing.

During care, two healing waves develop which are unique to Network.  One is a breathing wave that releases stress and tension throughout the spine and body, thus relaxing the person.  The other is called a somatopsychic (or body-mind) wave, which is associated with a dolphin-type undulation or movement of the spine.  These waves are related to a significant increase in wellness and quality of life.

According to the research, once people experience these Network healing waves, they tend to make healthier choices.  Suddenly the exercise, diet, supplements, meditation or prayer that may have resulted in minimal wellness benefits increases in effectiveness.  Saying it differently, people in Network care who experience these waves often double their perceived wellness.  As these healing waves progress along a person's spine, it revitalizes, energizes, and helps the body to self-correct distortions of alignment and posture.  They move stuck energy and are a resource of new energy and vitality.
